I have a Barclays (Juniper) Master Card. The letter I received with the card stated my available credit was $3500.00. I have a current payment balance of about $11,00. The recorded information says I have 0 available credit. How can this be when I should have approximately $2500.00 ($3500.00 – $1100.00) available credit.

  10. on 31 Oct 2006 at 11:37 am Posted by: Raymond D. Duggan

Payment balance in original message should read 1100.00. I do not have a response as of 31 October, 2006.

I am still waiting for a reply to my two prior messages as of 1 November 2006.

I sent my payment 3 days before due date . You deposited it 6 days after due date and charged me a late fee and service fee totalling $84. I have had credit cards for 10 years with NO late fees. Please credit my account or cancel my card now.

I applied for Juniper card and received E Mail dated 02 Oct. it was approved and card would be sent shortly. I have not received the card as of 10 Nov. Two messages sent on Juniper secure site not replied. Letter sent to customer service not replied in two weeks. Does Juniper have a customer service staff? Thank you!

To whom it concerns; I have e-mailed you just last month and had asked you why I got billed for a late charge when I sent my payment on the 30th. of October and you did not post it until the 10th. of November. I was trying to find out why it took 11 days for the payment to get there and be posted. Now I’m really wondering why this last payment was recieved and posted in 7 days. I mailed the payment on the 27th. of November and it was posted on the 4th. of December. And I still wonder why I got nailed for a late charge when I could not do anything about how fast the postal system delievered the mail. The postman was slow and I got stuck for a late charge. I hope that when you opened my last payment you did drop any of the pieces of our cards because I did cut them up and mailed them to you. I hope that you know that we HAD close that account by doing so. No one had to send a letter telling me that this account was closed and to destroy the cards. I may not have the education that you have, but I’m far from being stupid. You will find that I am mailing my LAST payment of $41.85 on the 26th. of December. Please be advised that we no longer have those cards and DO NOT ever want those cards again.
    Thank you.

This is not a website for any credit card company, my goodness you people are a joke! Please call the credit card company to complain! Someone set up this webpage to give you the credit card company’s phone number and address, no wonder you have so many complaints and problems. I swear that the American population is getting more lame each year.

Dear Juniper, I must confirm that the lack of service and concern for your customers seems to be across the board. I must concur with the notes I’ve read, that I have received lousy service and am prompted to get my payment in the mail by Return Post or suffer the consequences. I have heard of this type of scam by the credit card companies, and sometimes I wish they all had just one neck and I had my hands on it. I just got off the phone with Customer Service (not) and it was a most disgusting and alarming affair with the rudest and most protracted phone mail-jail that went on ad nauseum. Better luck to whomever reads this. sincerely, Rex

I have you all beat, i applied for a card, to pay off a balance on another credit card of $350. did not activate my card till May 3rd on May 4th i got my first bill (HOW I WILL NEVER KNOW) then it says they paid my other credit card company in April for $600 when I called I was told that it would be cancelled since my other credit card company did not receive payment, now on 5/16 I receive another letter saying i owe 621.00 when I called again I was told it was not cancelled, now mind you my other credit card was not paid yet, and payment was sent almost a month now. i am contacting every agency I can find that deals with credit card company fraud, and the better business bureau,. I think if everyone does the same we can close down these frauds.

This company is shady. Are they even a legit company? After reading this I’m definitely cancelling.

Just one look at their website and that should give you a pretty good idea what kind of company they are.

  21. on 27 May 2007 at 7:36 am Posted by: Joyce

I applied for a credit card and received a letter from them in which they demanded that I send them a copy of my birth certificate, passport or citizenship certificate to prove that I am a permanent resident of this country. Perhaps they are a shady company engaged in illicit activities.

Get this, they are on apple’s website as a way to finance an apple computer. The deal is for the first 90 days, the card is intrest free. You apply online and get an answer with in 30 seconds, yes 30 seconds. The available balance I received was 500 dollars. I have nearly perfect credit and make close to six figures a year. I called up the company and they say unless I make 200,000 dollars a year, I wont be able to have a starting available balance of more than 500 dollars. I talked to apple about this glaring problem because this is a classic bait and switch. I went to the website looking for a new computer, ended up with a shitty credit card. I ended up canceling the card the next day. With the assholes at juniper telling me, I could use the card on other things besides an apple computer. I told him no fn shit. He tried to make me keep the card as it took me well over 20 mins to cancel the card.

Overall Juniper is a crappy credit card company. They are shady and use classic bait and switch moves to put one of their crappy cards in your pocket.

    Avoid this company

I’M TELLING YOU, YOU CAN BELIEVE EVERYTHING THAT YOU ARE READING ABOUT JUNIPER CREDIT CARD SERVICES. ie CHARGING LATE FEES WHEN THE MAIL HAD PLENTY OF TIME TO GET THE PAYMENT THERE ON TIME. WHEN YOU CALL CUSTOMER SERVICE, YOU GET SOMEONE IN THE PHILLIPINES THAT YOU CANNOT EVEN UNDERSTAND, AND COULD CARE LESS ABOUT YOUR FEELINGS OR PROBLEMS. THEY ARE MOST SURELY SCAMMING THEIR CUSTOMERS, I BELIEVE ILLEGALY, AND SHOULD BE CONFRONTED BY 60 MINUTES OR 20/20. ONCE THE NEWS IS OUT TO THE PUBLIC AND BUSINESS STARTS TO WANE,MAYBE THEY WILL CHANGE THEIR POLICIES OF CHEATING PEOPLE TO IMPROVE THEIR BOTTOM LINE. WRITE OR CALL THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU, YOUR CONGRESS MAN, AND ANYONE YOU BELIEVE THAT WILL HELP TO UNVEIL THIS SCAM! EVERYONE THAT HAS HAD A PROBLEM WITH JUNIPER SHOULD ACT NOW. DON’T WAIT FOR SOMEONE ELSE TO ACT. LETS SHOW THEM THAT THEY CAN’T KEEP GETTING AWAY WITH CHEATING THE PUBLIC.

I am starting to really worry about this card I have now. I can’t see much good about it according to the things I read here. Who will be the brave one to call Dateline or someone about them?So far I have been lucky that I don’t think I have had any problems but I am going to start looking closer to each bill. To this point I have only had one. Thanks for the heads up.

i’ll have to lock-up my credit card, instead of me….so the monthly balance will go down…when i pay my credit card fee i can’t pay over the limit fee’s, late fee’s or other extra’s but they charge me regularly anyway! hard to believe anyway, i sent the monthly payment [17.00] kathleen mchale

I am totally puzzled whether your credit card is real or a scam.
Recently, I received your card against my authorization. I was penalized twice in the first month. When I e-mailed to pay the total balance on-line, I was told to call to their international division(India), whose customer relations’ manager is absolutely a disgrace to any financial institution.

I am now compelled to seek help from U.S. Gov’t. Consumers Affair Department.

  34. on 29 Nov 2007 at 9:59 am Posted by: Natalie Twele

This is a long (and unbelievable) situation…I paid my barclay’s bill over the phone with my checking account (as usual) by the due date. Two weeks later, I received next month’s credit card statement showing that there was a return payment fee and then a late fee so i called customer service immediately. I was told that my bank did not accept the payment due to an “invalid” account number and in turn charged them a fee. The representative told me she could not waive any of the fees because they were valid and i went ahead and repaid the initial payment. (Did i mention that my account had already been turned over to collections?!) Anyway, i decided to put this stressful situation on hold and enjoy my Thanksgiving…When i arrive back into town, i receive a letter from Barclay’s, “explaining” the situation and stating that i should contact my bank for further information. I spent hours at my bank on Monday and the manager came to the conclusion that this payment was never even presented to them (and they definitely did not charge them a fee!)! The bank manager and i actually called Barclay’s on speakerphone and got the runaround. When we asked to speak to a supervisor, she said we would have to call back later. Well obviously, i couldn’t stay at the bank any later nor take up any more of this man’s time so once again i gave up for the day. so now i’m stuck with these fees and the fact that it was turned over to collections is negatively affecting my credit and i’m left with all these questions. How could this have happened in the first place? how can your credit card company be so dishonest and get away with it? Most importantly, is there any one who can help me?????????

I HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE POSTAL SERVICE DELIVERY OF MY MAIL TIMELY THIS MONTH DUE TO CHANGE IN POSTAL WORKERS SORTING THE MAIL INCORRECTLY. CALLED JUNIPER TO ATTEMPT TO GET THE LATE FEE WAIVED/BILL PYMT WAS DUE ON THE 15TH OF MONTH, RECEIVED BILL ON 16TH, REQUESTED A ONE TIME COURTESY TO REMOVE LATE FEE, WAS TOLD THAT THEY COULD NOT, ONLY IF IT WERE A BANKING ERROR. HOW IS IT THAT ALL CALLS ARE ROUTED TO THE PHILLIPINES TO PEOPLE WHO DON’T CARE, PEOPLE WHO WILL WORK FOR MINIMAL PAY WITH NO BENEFITS AND WILL NOT COMPLAIN, PEOPLE WHO ARE CALLED MGRS? HOW CAN YOU HAVE SO MANY MGRS WHO ARE OF NO USE TO ANY OF THE CUSTOMERS CALLING, WITH RUTHLESS DISPOSITIONS? THEY COULD CARE LESS ABOUT YOUR REQUEST. I WILL NOT USE THIS CARD, AGAIN AND WILL PAY IT OFF IMMEDIATELY. DON’T BE SUCKED IN TO SO MANY BANKING UNFAIR PRACTICES. THEY ROB YOU BLIND.

  42. on 11 Mar 2008 at 6:16 am Posted by: Tom

If you would pay your bills on time and not think someone or the bank owes you something, you would not have most of these problems.
When I use my card, I pay the amount off when the bill comes in. I have never paid them any interest, late fees, nothing. The way I see it, I get to use their money for free for a month and like I said “pay it off”. Don’t wait until it’s due then jump on line to try and pay. If you cannot pay it off in a month, you most likely did not need what you bought. Plain old money management…..

DO NOT EVEN try to do business with this shadey company…
I have never activated my card and all of a sudden got a New
one……..they are not available by phone…when I wrote
them I got a standard no name no signature letter back…they
have impressed me with how little regard they have for customers
and honesty….who is really running this company? i believe I
could do better with the Outfit in Chicago…at least I would
    know what to expect.

Juniper Bank is a ripoff!!! I requested 1 balance transfer of $466.00. The next day they said there were 12 balance transfer request for this amount! I never requested 12 balance transfers. I called in to cancel everything and there was then a problem with my available credit. They have no idea what their doing, and are totally unorganized. Do not do business with this bank and close your account immediately.

    Disgusted Patron,

I made several attempt to work with Juniper in paying off my account. Every time I got a bill from them like clockwork I would pay double the amount owed to beat out the interest, only to find the following payment increased to counter my efforts to be debt free with them. I find them totally unprofessional and unconstitutional. They lied and said I could rebuild my credit with them after bankruptcy and all they’ve done was put me in a hole. Thanks Juniper for the wham bam no thank you melm.

I’ve been on the phone with them for 2 hours holding … are they ever going to answer the phone? I just want to know my current balance. After reading all this stuff I think I shoul djust cancel it.

  52. on 27 Oct 2008 at 8:32 am Posted by: Douglas Scalf

I have read the other comments and I have been fooled like others- The credit amount they give you you best spend in one day- because if they feel you have used the credit card to often they will lower your credit line – very low- They sent me the checks to pay off others or to use for what ever reason and I decided to use the check for a down payment for a car- it bounced! The week before I hade some motorcycle repairs that cost 900.00 (Full service on my bike) they decided at that time to lower my credit line without notice–But it gets better- I paid off the card and closed it more then 60 days ago, they took a payment out of 180.00 after it had been closed. I called to get the refund sent to me to find out they took finance fees off my money on a closed account bringing it down to 140.00– So if you get with this company you are in a lose vs lose situation- Best thing to do is get your credit in shape with current debt and find a true CC company that wants you to stay with them–I would love to see how much negative funds they get daily because of the way the screw folks–do not get sucked in!

  53. on 27 Oct 2008 at 9:37 am Posted by: Douglas Scalf

I have decided to write them a small letter- For fun I thought I would share it with all of you who visit this site– I am not the best writer-but, I think I got my point to them-enjoy—

I took out all hyper links except the e-mail one just incase//

Writen to Juniper, 27 October 2008/////

Below I found over 40 complaints of your company while looking for your web address–I was looking for the web information so I could contact you to get my refund back–but, after looking and reading these below and what you had done to me when I went to use one of your checks for a down payment on a car, to find out you lowered my credit line for what reason I was not sure–but you screwed me and I had to pay extra money and get more frustrated because of your crazy policy– So I paid off my account to get away from you all–I felt like I was posting bail and it felt great to get out from under your company–then I get a letter stating you took out an extra payment of 180.00 on my account—giving me a negative balance of 180.00–the card was closed and I found out today that my refund is 140.00 because you all decided to take out other fees—

Well-How in the hell do you charge me fees to a closed account? Respectable companies would just turn around and send you a check for the over payment–but since we know your company is far from respectable–it does not shock me to find out you can still rip me off even when my account is closed–so finding the below list of folks who had gotten screwed by you–I am sure the list is much longer then the one below…but, if you all have some kind of worth as a company–
I would like my total refund of 180.00 and you will take off the fees of a closed account that should have never been touched by your finance-except I was stupid enough to set up a monthly payment plan with you through my bank so I had no late fees—

I retired out of the Army in 2003 after 20 years–I would love it if we could do the same to you and many others who rip off honest working folks–when a war comes, we will only protect companies that treat us fair. If we did this I am sure you would be on the best folk list and if not any foreign folk who want your company for what ever reason you are fair game not to be protected by an of Department of Defense or any police agency-I would love to make this a law, I have seen folks like you screw up many folks while in the military—

I suppose I will wait on my 140.00 dollar payment and not expect to see you try to be human and give all my money back of the 180.00 –but, I will join the list below and send it to as many folks I can–and because I talk to soldiers daily as the Military Advisor for the college I work for, I have many friends and soon to have new friends that I daily meet past and present of my last 5 years I have been working at this college and get all the e-mails of past and present and help them better understand your company–good thing I had to save all these e-mails for follow up—so, I hope you all have had a great time with the current situation and I can only hope that you go under so far in the red that no one will ever get ripped off by you again- Thanks again for all the nothing you have done for me and many others-

With the respect my parents taught me to give all, no matter how terrible the person/company is-

Juniper AKA Barcley are as crooked as you can get. After going through personal hardships I fell behind on my payments to my Mastercard. Last fall I contacted them and tried to make thing right. I was told if I paid x amount that I would not have any late fees or over the limit fees for the next month. So I went to pay the next month a week early and what do you know, I was charged both because they threw the interest in and it put me over. I was lied to and they refused to make this right. So again in Jan. I was contacted again and promised that if I would agree to 2 electronic transfers of $225, one on 1/30 and another one on 2/13, my account would be caught up and there would be no fees accessed. But I was lied to again. I was again assessed the over the limit fee of $39. But to make matters worse, on 2/13 they post my payment twice and took $225 out of my checking account twice. They refuse to give me the money back and said I would have to write to the President of the company. They Stole 225 dollars from me without my authorization. They are putting me in more hardship than I already have. They are liars and crooks and should not be trusted by anyone. I am contacting the BBB and I’m thinking about seeking legal counsel. My Bank is also looking into this situation. People, DO NOT TRUST JUNIPER. Get out as soon as possible.

I had a credit card from Juniper and had to cancel it when they wouldn’t give me time to get the charge off my bill, I was dealing with an internet company called real arcade and they had mistakenly put a $9.95 charge onto my credit card, then trying to get it removed they took their good old time giving me the credit, this should have taken care of the bill, no way, I had to keep getting charged for the late charges and fees I didn’t owe, now they have their credit back from this company and aren’t taking a thing off the bill except the orginal charges they got back. Now my bill is up to $165.13 on charges and late fees. I wouldn’t deal with this credit card anymore and I surely wouldn’t deal with real arcade either. All I wanted to do was reload down the games I bought from them years ago onto my new computer and they wanted my credit card number I was stupid to give it and I explained this to Juniper to deaf ears I guess. So I’m telling you don’t deal with this credit card company either, they are too hard to reach to get it straightened out and since they are not in my state they figure I won’t go there and fight these charges either. I guess I might have to get a lawyer in the end. I always pay my bills off each month and this is terrible to not be able to get it straightened out. I just wish there was a way to get in touch with someone that cares at this company. I will always tell everyone they are bad to deal with too.

Well Let me tell you all, that this “Juniper” Credit Card Co. ..I was told to western Union my payment to avoid being late, which i did. Four days later i check my card on line and found out, that not only was my payment “not accepted” by them, for what ever ridiculous reason, but i was now being charged a “late” fee and an “overlimit” fee. I called them and they said they were sorry. They told me to make a payment over the phone, and they would waive the “late” fee, but not the “overlimit fee”, because it had to be “one or the other” ??? What the heck !!!! So i fax all my Western Union paperwork to them, as i was told to get this taken care of. Well, guess what. They didn’t get it, so i had to resend it again. Now a m0nth later, and it still isn’t resolved. But, on my statement i see that i am again getting hit with a “overlimit” fee, and my new percentage rate is 23.9%. WoW. I called them a again and spoke to a “Supervisor” . She told me it would take up to 30 to investigate. Any guesses how this will turn out ????

Even when your right your wrong. I dealt with Juniper banks customer care department. I made payment early and they charged me a late fee. I called to ensure the funds went to the proper billing month after I made the payment and I was asured everything was fine. Here is a copy of the email I sent. I was told pretty much to bad to sad.

    Good morning,

I will try and keep this short and to the point. I was leaving on vacation so I decided to pay my bill early. On May 4th I made a payment of 1000, 00 to the account to be charged to May’s bill, then prior to leaving on vacation I called
to ensure that the 1000, 00 was applied to May’s bill. This phone call was made on May 15th. You have a record of this call. Your representative assured me that the payment would be applied to May’s bill and my next payment would be
    June 26th.

On June 9th I received a phone call stating that my account was past due and that I would be charged a 39.00 late fee. They wanted the past due amount to
wave the late fee. I tried to explain that the payment was made early and the account should not have a late fee or past due amount. I was told if I did not make a payment right then that I could not recover the late fee.

First the payment was not past due! second I was ensured by your representative when I called on the 15th that the payment was credited to May. I asked for a supervisor and the supervisor was not available. I was told that a supervisor would call me back. Ten minutes later a supervisor returned my call. The supervisor told me the same thing to bad unless you make a payment now I can’t help you and you will be charged a late fee

. I told the supervisor that I would not make a payment now that nothing was due. I was told that I would be called every day until payment was made. I hope you have a recording of this because the statement made by your supervisor was illegal and is considered harassment by state law in Colorado.

Anyway the payment requested was only 114.00 but here lies the principle. I did everything I could to prevent this from happening while I was gone. I made a payment early and called to ensure things were processed correctly. I do not appreciate the rudeness and close to blackmail tactics of your collections team.

They had the proper information to make the right call yet failed to do so. Instead they used threats and intimidation to try to resolve this issue. Complete payment will be made on June 26th Minus the 39.00 late fee or any past
due amount. This needs to be fixed now and you have all the information including records of my payments and calls to do so. By the way the prior month’s payment was 7,500.00. This may help you decide along with you records of where the funds should have been applied.

My wife accidentally make a payment that was short .34 cents of the minimun because she didnt realize that the yraised the rate from 8.99% to 14.99%. Was assesed a $30.00 late fee, and interest rate went up again to 27.99%! Called them , and after being on hold over an hour, finally got them to credit back the $30 late fee, but I was told that I would have to write a letter to get my rate back. I did immediatly, and faxed it to them. They wrote me back that there was nothing they could do for me, but WOULD KEEP ME INFORMED OF ANY SPECIAL OFFERS THEY WOULD HAVE IN THE FUTURE!!!!
What a joke this place is. They should be investigated, revealed for what they are, and SHUT DOWN PERMANATLEY!!!

The assholes at Juniper credit card accepted a full payment of $1600, held if for 10 days and decided to review the account 3 days after receiving the payment. They closed the account after having received payment. The bill was late one month and many prior full payments have been made to avoid their outrageous fees. The lied on the phone and the 3 individuals (including a supervisor) were all powerless and robots only capable of reading from the policy-of-let’s-screw- you book. Now I am out the $1600. Money I could have applied elsewhere and made a smaller payment to these assholes. I guess that I feel the pinch now but at least now I and done with these jerks.

I had 8.99% and They rased it to 14.99%. I had been making $300.00 payments trying to pay the account off. I am a 73 year old male livingon a retirement income. I cancelled card and will be filing a chapter 13. I didn’t have any other choice. I wished someone would start a class law suite against these JERKS !!!!

Juniper sent a letter telling me my interest rate would be raised on Nov 27 if I kept the account open, or if I closed the account I could keep my current interest rate.

I closed the account 7 days early.

They raised the interest rate anyway.

I have called 5 times and sent about 10 emails. Each time I talk to someone new, and they each tell me something different ranging from “don’t worry, you will get the rate lowered and a retroactive credit” ….. to “your account must be reviewed, we will let you know in 10 days” ….. to “you closed your account after the date, the higher rate applies”

I am beyond frustrated. I am sitting AGAIN on hold waiting for someone to answer my call. I was told 1-2 minutes of hold time. It’s been 9 minutes now.

I can’t figure out if Juniper is trying to trick me, or if they have the worst customer service and internal communication I have ever experienced.

I would really like to know what department I can report this to. BBB? Federal government? What can I do to make my voice heard?

  64. on 16 Dec 2009 at 8:20 am Posted by: Sucker

Hi, me again. the phone was finally picked back up after a total of 14 minutes on hold. i was told 1-2 minutes.

the customer service rep confirmed that i “should” have the lower interest rate because she saw that I opted out on Nov 20 and the cut off date was nov 27. she agrees that my rate should not have gone up.

here’s the annoying thing: she can’t fix it. she has to submit it for review, which will take about 10 days.

I don’t get this — the mistake should not have happened to begin with. then, once it happened, they should have some sort of checks and balances in place to notice it, but they don’t. so I (the customer) caught it and I called to have it fixed. no one can fix it. that’s so absurd I can’t even begin to tell you how frustrating it is.

I understand if the person at the first level can’t help, but SOMEONE there can, so transfer my call to that person!

no… they have to review it for 10 days.

Actually 22 days since I already called about this 12 days ago and my first “review” is missing, so they’re doing another.

I have never had to deal with a company that has such crappy customer care. I don’t know if they are purposefully creating road blocks to discourage me into accepting the higher rate, or if they are really this poorly managed over there.

    it’s outrageous.

I strongly advise anyone reading this to spare yourself the drama. don’t get a juniper card. don’t get a barkleys card. not only do their customer service people have thick accents so you can’t understand them, but they are not knowledgeable and will tell you lies and untruths, and they can’t even fix whatever problem you may have. what is the point of having anyone answer the phone if they can’t help you and they tell you lies and you can’t even understand the words coming out of their mouths.

    I am blown away.

someone tell me where I can report this company. it MUST be illegal to “accidentally” raise my rate and then create 100 roadblocks for me getting them to fix their error.

    unbelieveable

I paid off my Juniper account about a year ago. When the new cards came, my husband cut them up and we never re-activated the account. So the credit card does not exist. But in June or July I received a statement from Juniper, with no merchant listed, and a fee for something I didn’t even purchase. So I called them and the fraud department. They gave me the merchants # and I called. They canceled 90.00 of it the first time. I called back at a later date, because nothing was taken off the account. The merchant said they were canceling their whole fee. So I called Juniper back and told them, and they said they weren’t going to take off the charges no matter what. I called an attorney and he said it would cost ore to pay him, so to contact the BBB and the attorney general’s office, which I just did. The merchant’s not giving me a problem, but Juniper is. They put charges on an account that does not even exist. That’s fraud!!!!

After 7 years of haveing my monthly credit card charges deducted in full each month for some reason and it was not done and there were more then enought funds in my bank account the payment did not go through and Juniper now Barclaycard or something charged me over 90 dollars in fees on that one failed transaction which was their fault in the first place, if I had just been makeing minium payments would have been 15 dollars… they deducted what I owed plus more about a week later and are now billing me for 101.00 more and I have not made any charges for over two months…I have made repeated phone calls,,,no one seems to know what they are doing,, this company is a disaster I would stay far away from them.

He stated after June 4, 2010 I would recieve the statement. Well it is June 9, 2010 and I live in Hawaii. My husband did talk with your poor english speaking individual and warn him if I make a payment and you bill me extra after you clear my check which this organization takes 10 days to clear my check,my husband will asked the top two senators in the state of Hawaii for a full Congressional Investigation why you over charge extra payment’s. I am sorry to see all these negative comments. Don’t give up hope people! My Juniper Bank card is one of my best accounts. They charge me the least interest. Two years ago I screwed up on my payments and they increased the interest of course. But after 6 months of on time payments they lowered the interest to what it was before. My payments have been on their automatic payment system on their website and I have had no problems whatsoever. And when I lost my card, the guy I was talking to was in Oklahoma, not the Philippines! Nice to talk to someone who spoke perfect English.

As a postscript, didn’t anyone notice that a LOT of credit card companies were raising interest rates in 2009? Target National Bank sent me a letter saying they were going to do so to my account even though I hadn’t had any late payments! And you won’t believe what Capital One did to me. Now all you hear about are credit card company bailouts. Juniper Bank did not jerk me around at all.

Wow, what a joke of a bank. Barclays Bank’s customer service department is by far THE worst I have encountered. I am surprised Frontier Airlines has not moved on to a different bank to administer the frequent flier credit card offer. The customer service at the bank is the worst I have ever experienced.

If I did not love Frontier Airlines and want the mileage credit I would have dumped Barclays Bank long ago.

Seriously, I do not understand how a company (Barcays) can stay in business with the poor customer service, lack of follow through, incompetent employees, not well-trained employees on their own products (e. g. stating they don’t offer a “Pay Pass” credit card through Frontier Airlines, when they do!!!!), weak supervisors, not calling back within 24 hours as they state a manager will do and managers not even aware of what the problem is.

This goes back to mid-May when I was sent a new credit card because I was “upgraded” to a better card. Two months later and nearly 30 phone calls and I don’t have resolution and continue to get incompetent customer service employees who give me incorrect information and do not seem to care to fix the situation. Stay clear of getting one of these cards if you can help it. (I read the negative post by a person who “was roped” into one there at the Denver Airport.)

I am so disappointed in this product, Barclays Bank, any Barclays cards, especially the Frontier Airlines Barclays MasterCard, the incompetent call center they use in Manila, the uniformed bank customer service personnel in the U.S. who do not follow through and seem uninterested in helping, Frontier Airlines.

There are other better choices out there. Be aware – Mike
