I recently found out that my bank (Chevy Chase Bank), which is mostly in the D.C area, charges 3% of the amount for ATM/Debit Card foreign withdrawal. In addition, there is a $2 ATM fee

I opened an account at Bank of Internet (http://www.bankofinternet.com/). They not only do not charge me foreign transaction fees on my atm withdrawals but actually reimburse some of the atm bank fees. I’m saving just a touch over 1% on each withdrawal! And their customer service by email has been examplary! Michael
